Employee Product Allocation Policy
Purpose
We want all employees to be Brand Ambassadors and therefore we provide an allocation for each employee to purchase a range of products from the Moёt Hennessy brand portfolio.
At the start of each tax year, all permanent and fixed term employees will be given 320 points or a prorated amount when you commence employment part way through the year, which will enable you to obtain products from the Company shop.
Points can be used to receive 1 bottle of product from the appropriate price range (no change will be given
You should be aware that this allocation is treated as a payroll benefit in kind. The tax calculation is updated annually at the beginning of the new tax year. You have the opportunity to opt in or opt out of the scheme prior to the next tax year beginning. Communication will be sent out prior to the new tax year from the HR team.
When you leave the Company, you should redeem the balance of your points at the staff shop and the remaining tax to be paid will be deducted from your final pay.
In addition to the points system, employees are able to purchase goods in the Company shop at discounted prices.
How to Purchase Products
Employees can purchase products on the online staff shop, located on our intranet The Daily Mash.
The shop will be open every day. There is no limit on the number of times you can place an order per month, however there is a maximum order of 26 bottles per month.
Delivery/Collection
The following rules have been put in place regarding collection & delivery:

Collection details will be communicated to Glenmorangie Distillery & Glenmorangie House employees via the DVC Manager. |
Please note, the minimum order fulfilment time is 48 hours from order placement to order picking by the team at Alba. Delivery to your base location from Alba may be longer than this depending on delivery timing.
Goods Obtained Through the Company Shop
The Company shop(s) (including, where relevant, Distillery Visitor Centres) is provided as a benefit to employees, their family, and close friends. It is acceptable for employees to purchase goods at discounted prices on behalf of their family and close friends and to pass on the benefit of reduced prices to them.
It is not acceptable for employees to purchase goods in the Company shop and to subsequently resell these goods for commercial gain. In particular, any of the following will be viewed as a serious offence and subject to disciplinary:
· Selling of goods to a commercial outlet where you could reasonably expect that the goods supplied will be resold for profit, i.e., local hotelier/publican/retailer/market stall and/or where the recipient could purchase goods through our normal distribution channel.
· Selling of goods on the Internet
· Systematic buying and selling of goods for personal gain
End of Line/High Value Products
There will be occasions where the Company gives employees the opportunity to purchase products, which are classed as ‘specials’ and/or ‘end of line’. In some instances, these products may increase in value over time as their rarity increases. The Company accepts that employees may want to purchase these products as an investment with the intention of reselling at a later date for some commercial gain.
In such instances where the product being sold by the employee is no longer available to purchase from The Glenmorangie Company or its subsidiaries, it is acceptable for the employee to resell the product subject to the conditions outlined above.
If an employee wants to sell a bottle but is unsure about the distribution of the particular product, they should check with the Human Resources Department in the first instance.
Special Bottling Gifts to Employees
The Company may, on occasion, give employees a gift of a bottle to commemorate a particular event. The Company hopes that employees will appreciate such gifts and that the employee will retain them as a memento of the occasion. These products may have some appeal to ‘Glenmorangie collectors’ and may, therefore, have a commercial value.
The Company would strongly prefer that employees retain these gifts as a reminder of the event; however, it is recognised that a small number of employees may wish to sell the gift; once again, this would be subject to all the conditions set out in this policy. If you are unsure on any aspect, please contact the Human Resources Department.
Cash sales to employees
Moёt Hennessy and The Glenmorangie Company are committed to the health and welfare of all their employees and recognise that part of that responsibility must extend to the consumption of their products. The Group have many exceptional brands and whilst we want all our employees to have the opportunity to sample these products, we want to encourage our employees to consume them responsibly.
Cash sales to employees is therefore restricted to 120 bottles per employee per financial year.
A central log will be kept of all purchases made and on reaching the limit of 120 bottles, no further purchases will be permitted until the following tax year. Please note that purchases made by you for family, friends, and professional contacts will count towards your limit.
Due to scarcity of some of the Group products further restrictions will apply as detailed below:
· A Maximum of 6 bottles per employee per annum for Premium Champagne (Dom Pérignon, Krug)
· A Maximum of 36 bottles per annum of Champagne in total.
In exceptional cases (for example family weddings) requests can be made to the HR Director to exceed this limit.
Responsible Consumption
We encourage the safe and responsible consumption of our products and provide regular training to ensure your safety. In the event that you have shared with us that you have an alcohol dependency, we will discuss with you a cash alternative for your product allowance.
